Saint Paul, MN Job Summary We are seeking a Lab Technician to join our Corporate Research Process Lab on a one-year contract . This hands-on role supports process development and product innovation by operating and maintaining coating process equipment, performing laboratory testing, and documenting experimental results. The ideal candidate has experience working in a laboratory or manufacturing environment, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to safely operate industrial equipment while supporting research and development activities. Responsibilities Operate, monitor, and maintain coating process equipment and laboratory systems. Support coating process operations and collaborate with product development teams. Perform laboratory testing, sample preparation, and material characterization. Analyze experimental data and document results accurately. Handle chemicals safely while following established safety procedures and laboratory protocols. Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to support efficient operations. Maintain accurate records of experiments, testing, and process activities. Assist with process improvements and product development initiatives. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment. Work effectively with cross-functional teams to meet project goals. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors Degree or High school diploma or GED required. Recent Grads or 1-2 years of experience as a Lab Technician, Manufacturing Technician, Process Technician, or similar technical role. Experience operating mechanical or industrial equipment. Experience handling chemicals in a laboratory or manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to follow detailed procedures and safety guidelines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Preferred Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, Biology, or another related science field. Experience in a manufacturing, pilot plant, or research and development (R&D) environment. Experience with roll-to-roll (R2R), coating, converting, or continuous process equipment. Experience performing laboratory testing, material characterization, or analytical testing. Knowledge of process improvement or continuous improvement methodologies.
