Job Title:
QC Chemist Job Description This role involves working in the lab conducting quality control work. The QC Chemist will conduct quality control testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards. The position requires the application of analytical chemistry principles, wet lab techniques, and laboratory best practices. Responsibilities Conduct raw material, in-process, and finished good testing. Perform HPLC and GC testing. Maintain and troubleshoot instruments. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Analyze samples from production and final products using HPLC. Communicate effectively and work in a GMP environment. Utilize Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy, FTIR, UV-Vis, and TOC Analyzer for analysis. Ensure compliance with quality control procedures and maintain accurate documentation. Contribute to continuous improvement and uphold safety standards. Essential Skills Proficiency in chemistry and laboratory techniques. Experience with HPLC, FTIR, and viscosity testing. Familiarity with wet chemistry and quality control procedures. Strong communication skills and ability to follow SOPs. Ability to work in a GMP environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry. Experience in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or cosmetic manufacturing. Experience with GC and other analytical instrumentation. Work Environment This is a lab-based position focused on QC bench work and documentation. The QC Chemist will be one of two lab technicians performing hands-on QC analysis. The company is a small, family-owned business specializing in lotions and cream products for over-the-counter use. The lab team consists of three people: a director, two lab techs, and a QC tech person who assists with sample processing. The work hours are from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday to Friday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glendale, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
