Summary KEMET Electronics, a YAGEO company is seeking a Technician in our Advanced Material Development Group in the Simpsonville, SC location. The Technician will provide R & D laboratory support for the development of improved next generation capacitor polymer materials. This is a first shift position. Key Responsibilities Provide R & D laboratory support for the development of improved next generation capacitor polymer development in polymerization reactions, polymer coating formulations, polymer dip coating, capacitor testing, and characterizations which include analytical measurements in the lab, and production floor. Plan and conduct experiments independently, collect necessary data, organize/record the data, share conclusions broadly and continue experiments as needed with minimal guidance from supervision. Interface with research investigators in the materials group to set the objectives and priorities for the various tests. Ensure the various laboratory and analytical measurement systems are in good working condition and to make upgrades as needed. Required Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science preferred or applicable work experience. Knowledge and hands-on experiences with general chemistry or lab techniques including chemical experiments, formulation, purification, and analytical techniques. Working experience in a lab, reactions, formulations, production, manufacturing environment handling analytical or production equipment. Working knowledge of computer-based systems necessary for lab operation and data analysis, including MS Office tools and statistics software. Good organization and time management skills, with capability to handle multiple tasks. Self-motivated and demonstrated curiosity and passion to understand, troubleshoot and solve problems encountered at work.
