Job Description

Healthcare United is seeking compassionate, dependable, and professional Personal Care Workers to provide non-medical assistance to individuals in their homes. Our Personal Care Workers help clients maintain their independence, dignity, safety, and quality of life while receiving personalized support in a familiar environment. We are looking for individuals who genuinely enjoy caring for others and are committed to providing respectful, reliable, and high-quality service. Position Responsibilities Personal Care Workers may be responsible for: Assisting clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and other personal-care needs Helping clients safely move around the home and transfer between beds, chairs, and other areas Providing walking assistance and fall-prevention support Preparing simple meals and assisting with feeding when needed Providing medication reminders in accordance with the client's care plan Performing light housekeeping, including laundry, changing bed linens, washing dishes, and maintaining clean living areas Offering companionship, conversation, encouragement, and emotional support Supporting clients with daily routines, hobbies, and recreational activities Accompanying clients on approved errands or appointments when required Observing and reporting changes in a client's condition, behavior, or needs Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of services provided Following each client's individual care plan and daily schedule Protecting client privacy and maintaining confidentiality Communicating professionally with clients, family members, supervisors, and other care-team members Following all Healthcare United policies, safety procedures, and infection-control guidelines Responding appropriately to emergencies and promptly reporting incidents or concerns Please note: This is a non-medical position. Personal Care Workers may not perform skilled nursing services or medical procedures unless properly licensed and specifically authorized to do so. Qualifications and Requirements Applicants should meet the following requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or GED preferred Previous caregiving, personal-care, home-care, or healthcare experience preferred Physical Requirements Depending on the client's needs, the position may require the ability to: Stand, walk, bend, reach, and remain active for extended periods Assist clients with walking, repositioning, or transferring Lift or support a reasonable amount of weight safely Perform light housekeeping and meal-preparation duties Respond quickly and calmly during an emergency Work Schedule Healthcare United may have full-time, part-time, evening, weekend, overnight, and as-needed opportunities available. Work schedules and assignments will be based on client needs, employee availability, qualifications, and location.
