Orion Group is hiring an Environmental Cleaning Specialist to work onsite for our multinational pharmaceutical manufacturing partner in North Chicago . If you have experience as a cleanroom sanitation worker in an industrial environment, apply today! Environmental Cleaning Specialist 5:00am-1:30pm Monday-Friday (Saturday as needed) $21.88/hr 6 month initial contract with possibility of extension or full time hire.
North Chicago, IL Environmental Cleaning Specialist Job Function:
The Environmental Cleaning Specialist performs microbial control cleaning procedures that must comply with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and regulatory guidelines. You will be cleaning both office, and aseptic manufacturing environments where FDA regulations apply.
Daily Responsibilities:
Performs cross contamination cleaning methods in areas that require microbial control. (Aseptic manufacturing environment.) Prepares cleaning solutions based on cGMP regulated mixing instructions. Performs microbial control cleaning techniques on walls, ceiling and floors based on cGMP regulated cleaning frequencies.
Cleans areas performing the following:
Pick up and dispose of regular trash and wash waste containers. Picks up and bails corrugate and stages in designated areas. Pick up and dispose of autoclave waste. Vacuum, spot clean, shampoo and extract carpeted floors and dust mop, Sweep, damp mop, scrub, burnish, strip and refinish resilient and Concrete floors. Spot clean, damp wipe and wash walls, partitions, ceilings, doors andglass. Dust high and low, spot cleans, damp wipes and wash office furniture. Dust and wash light fixtures, and replace burned out light bulbs using a step ladder six foot tall or less. Clean washrooms. Washroom fixture (mirrors, sinks, urinals, toilets, etc.) Follows specific gowning procedures and performs cGMP entrance and exit procedures for controlled environments. Operates various types of hand held battery and electric cleaning equipment. Operates various types of battery and electric walk behind or ride-on floor cleaning equipment. Performs safety and preventive maintenance inspections on housekeeping power equipment and small tools and wears approved PPE. Previous Housekeeping experience Environmental Cleaning Specialist Qualifications Highschool Diploma or GED 1-2 years experience in FDA regulated sanitation environments are a plus! 1-2 years housekeeping experience Previous Pharma experience, cleaning or in operations Aseptic cleanroom experience and familiar with cleanroom gowning and PPE. Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to be on your feet and walking, bending, stooping, pushing, etc throughout entirety of shift. You may walk to another building on campus to work.
