View Point Health is hiring a Infection Control/HIV Technician - HIV AIDS Prevention and Awareness - Clayton Co. in Lawrenceville, GA. This is a full-time position.

Full-Time (40 hours per week on average)
Job Hours:
8: 00 AM to 5: 00 PM or 11: 00 AM to 7: 00 PM Monday Friday with some weekend hours for outreach events and testing.

Prevention and Awareness Full-time X Part-time PRN Exempt Nonexempt X The Infection Control/HIV Technician provides community outreach, HIV/Hepatitis C and infection control education, and prevention services to View Point Health clients and high-risk individuals in the community, through presentations, educational materials, and individual or group psychoeducation. Duties & Responsibilities Obtains informed consent and completes all required pre-test documentation prior to performing rapid HIV and Hepatitis C testing.

Draws blood specimens as needed to confirm rapid test results or obtain additional laboratory testing and completes all post-test counseling and documentation.

Reports all HIV-positive results immediately to the Infection Control Coordinator and ensures timely disease intervention, reporting, and documentation in accordance with established guidelines.

Provides case management and linkage-to-care services, consults with RNs and clinicians regarding mental health and substance use concerns related to HIV care.

Participates in interdisciplinary meetings with GNR Health Department and View Point Health staff to address education, reporting, testing concerns, treatment issues, and follow-up care.

Assists with planning, implementing, managing, and evaluating infection prevention and control activities. Analyzing, monitoring, and reporting infection control and disease surveillance data under supervision. Provides PrEP education and referrals.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university; or High School diploma/ GED and one (1) year of experience in medical assisting. Preferred Qualifications One year of experience working in the HIV field doing outreach providing education and testing.

Associates or Bachelors degree in Epidemiology or Public Health.
Requirements/Competencies:
Must be able to lift 20 pounds.

Requires long periods of sitting/standing.

Must have valid Georgia drivers license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.

Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting).Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens.
