When you grow, we grow. How you will make an impact: The Microbiologist I is part of Meissner Technical Services (MTS) department which in a key component to Meissner's commitment to quality. The Microbiologist I Assists in performing filter Quality Control bacterial challenge tests, LAL (endotoxin) tests, and reading environmental monitoring test results to support manufacturing, R D and Quality departments. Utilize knowledge of aseptic techniques as required. Monitoring of water systems inclusive of LAL testing Bioburden testing Total Organic Carbon testing Daily reading of water system parameters Manufacturing of distilled water (DI) used for LAL. QC Bacterial Challenge testing of membranes. QC Bacterial Challenge test calculation. Monthly LAL testing of Single Use Systems. Reading of Environmental Monitoring plates. Gram staining for Environmental Monitoring plates. Growth Promotion on media. Preparation of Media following recipes. Monitoring of Laboratory supplies. Order supplies to ensure timely completion of tasks in Micro Lab. Adjust controls of equipment such as pumps, filters, and autoclaves to obtain optimum results. Wash glassware as necessary for laboratory use. This is an on-site role based out of our headquarters in Camarillo, CA. The skills and experience you'll need: Bachelor's degree (BS) from four-year college or university in microbiology, biology, or related subject; and 0 to 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have strong English Language written and verbal communication skills. Must have strong aptitude to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures. Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be proficient with MS Office software including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe.
