On-SiteKey ResponsibilitiesProvide clinical medical physics support for a radiation oncology program with an expected volume of 50+ patients per day at full operation.
Perform and oversee routine machine and treatment-system quality assurance.
Support calibration and ongoing performance evaluation of radiation therapy equipment.
Review and approve treatment plans for accuracy, quality, and patient safety.
Support advanced treatment techniques including:
IMRTSBRTSGRTPerform and oversee patient-specific QA and chart checks.
Support radiation safety and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Participate in treatment planning review, peer review, and clinical quality processes.
Collaborate with dosimetry staff to maintain efficient and accurate treatment-planning workflows.
Work closely with radiation oncologists, therapists, dosimetrists, and other members of the clinical team.
Contribute to continuous improvement of clinical physics procedures and quality standards.
Maintain appropriate documentation and records related to physics activities and QA.QualificationsRequiredABR Board Certification in Therapeutic Medical PhysicsMaster's or Ph.D. in Medical Physics or a closely related field.
Minimum 5 years of clinical therapeutic medical physics experience.
Strong knowledge of radiation therapy physics, QA, treatment planning, and radiation safety.
Ability to work full-time and onsite in San Luis Obispo, CA.Strong communication and collaboration skills.
PreferredExperience with Varian TrueBeam or similar linear accelerator platforms.
Experience with RayStation or comparable treatment planning systems.
Experience with SGRT and/or VisionRT.Experience supporting IMRT and SBRT.Experience working in a growing or newly established radiation oncology environment.
