Friendly, supportive team environment—we look out for each other Modern salon focused on safety, wellness, and quality over quantity Comfortable working space with new equipment, electric grooming tables, tubs with ramps, and bright lighting Access to professional training videos & educational resources Employee discounts on retail products Paid AKC SAFE and Fear Free Groomer Certification Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality grooming services, including breed-specific cuts Balance efficiency with attention to detail for safe, thorough, and beautiful grooms Work confidently and safely handle dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments—including anxious or reactive pets Strong interpersonal skills to provide excellent customer service and address client concerns or requests Maintain clear communication with the front desk and other staff to ensure efficient workflow Prepare grooming reports for clients after each service, including a recap of observations and recommendations for future services Prepare and update grooming notes in the system for future reference Senior Groomers are expected to mentor and coach bathers and junior groomers by providing guidance, skill development support, and leadership within the salon Assist newer team members in developing safe handling practices, grooming techniques, efficiency, client communication, and salon procedures Lead by example by maintaining high grooming standards, professionalism, teamwork, and a positive salon culture Maintain a safe and organized grooming environment at all times, including sweeping, disinfecting, laundry, and cleaning/sanitizing tools and equipment Complete all required safety and training certifications, including AKC SAFE and Fear Free Groomer Certification (provided) Qualifications Minimum 6 years of professional grooming experience Expert-level knowledge of breed standards, haircut styles, and coat care Grooming certifications preferred but not required Proven ability to groom dogs independently to high standards Excellent time management, detail orientation, and client care skills Positive, team-oriented attitude Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (with equipment to reduce strain) Compensation Options We recognize that experienced groomers value different compensation structures depending on their goals and preferred working style. Senior Groomers may have the opportunity to choose between the following pay models based on experience, schedule availability, productivity, and overall fit within the salon environment. Option 1 — Hybrid Compensation + Benefits Designed for groomers seeking income consistency, stability, and long-term benefits. Hourly guaranteed floor for added stability on slower days Tiered commission structure with earning potential up to 50% commission Paid for downtime spent assisting with salon support, cleaning, training, and team support tasks Team members are eligible for: 401(k) with employer matching Quarterly shear sharpening reimbursement (up to $150/quarter) Training, including AKC SAFE and Fear Free certification 401(k) with employer matching Employee discounts Colorado paid sick leave Full-time team members are also eligible for: Paid time off Employer-sponsored medical insurance Dental & vision insurance Option 2 — Straight Commission Designed for highly productive groomers who prefer a pure commission structure with maximum commission potential. 50% commission compensation structure Pure commission structure without hourly guarantees Earnings are directly tied to productivity and booked services Groomers on the straight commission model are expected to maintain an average daily service production of $550-$650 Includes Colorado paid sick leave, paid AKC SAFE and Fear Free certification, 401k matching, and employee discounts Straight commission positions are limited and offered at management discretion. Continued eligibility for the straight commission structure may be reviewed based on productivity, attendance, client retention, professionalism, teamwork, reliability, and overall performance Estimated Earnings Compensation varies based on schedule, productivity, pricing level, breed mix, and tips.

Experienced Senior Groomers commonly earn:
