Job Description

Position Summary This position involves knowledge of reciprocating engines, reciprocating gas compressors, and auxiliary equipment. Mechanics will be assigned to crews that will disassemble, repair, rebuild, and overhaul various natural gas compressor packages while exceeding the highest quality and safety standards. Activities will be directed and coordinated by Supervisors and Team Leads and be in accordance with company policies and procedures, customer work orders and service agreements as well as all relevant OSHA and governmental regulations. This position involves physical labor at the shop facility and on occasion may require work at customer locations.
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair and assembly of reciprocating engine and compressor components and auxiliary equipment Utilize precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges and take accurate measurements and assess dimensional integrity of parts Collaborate with other team members to analyze inspection results, and develop repair plans for mechanical equipment and instrumentation Ensure proper handling, storage, and organization of disassembled equipment components to prevent damage or loss Perform reassembly of repaired or replaced components in accordance with technical specifications and quality standards Oversee and sign off on test runs and quality assurance checks Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines, wear required and appropriate PPE Observe and follow company health, safety and environmental (HSE) procedures Maintain a clean and organized work environment Operate overhead cranes, torches, grinders, and forklifts when required Able to work overtime, nights, weekends as deemed necessary by management Work independently in a fast-paced, productive environment Record parts and materials used, and process requisition of new parts and material
Requirements:
2-5 years of experience working with reciprocating equipment, diesel engines or other related equipment Associate degree, NCCER, or Trade School in craft preferred Experience with equipment overhauls Proficient in the use and understanding of precision measuring equipment, such as micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, etc. Knowledge of equipment alignment tools (both laser and manual) Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work Able to read and write English. Ability to perform basic math functions Ability to successfully complete assigned responsibilities Must exhibit a high level of dependability, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal Must supply own tools, specialty tools will be provided by the company
