This is a temporary position, with expected hours between 4 to 6 per day Monday - Thursday. The Chaffey College Lifeguard will enforce applicable rules, regulations, and ordinances at a college swimming pool to prevent accidents. Rescues persons in danger of drowning and administers CPR and first aid when necessary.

EMPLOYMENTBeing able and ready to work in-person with Chaffey students, Chaffey employees, or other members of the Chaffey community/Chaffey partners/Chaffey contractors is an essential function of this job.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Enforces applicable rules, regulations, and ordinances at a college swimming pool to prevent accidentsRescues persons in danger of drowning and administers CPR and first aid when necessaryInspects and monitors the use of pool equipment and reports unsanitary, unsafe, or hazardous conditionsPerforms minor emergency repair, maintenance, and clean-up work required to prevent accidents and to maintain maximum health standardsAnswers inquiries and provides information to the public regarding swimming programs and special eventsMay assist in swimming and lifesaving instruction.
