Job Description

Academic Coach GENERAL :

As an Academic Coach, you will play a vital role in providing students and their parents with effective and efficient academic support and guidance. Your focus will be on aligning the League's education philosophies and principles with the daily delivery of personalized assistance, empowering students to thrive academically and preparing them for future success.

Program Director and President & CEO of the Urban League.

SCOPE OF DUTIES

ACADEMIC

DEVELOPMENT

▪ Acquire a comprehensive understanding of the

Project Ready:

ACT Now College and Career Readiness program and related curricula.

▪ Actively participate in staff development workshops, seminars, and training sessions.

▪ Foster positive working relationships with Urban League staff members.

▪ Administer pre/post assessments for students as required.

▪ Provide personalized tutoring to students in various academic subjects and grade levels.

▪ Utilize student achievement data to develop effective plans for improving performance on high stakes tests.

▪ Offer guidance on college entrance requirements and career planning.

▪ Cultivate a culture of high academic achievement among students.

▪ Inform students about important dates and deadlines related to exams, university/college days, admissions, financial aid workshops, and parent meetings.

▪ Serve as a positive role model, creating a supportive and motivating environment for students.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

▪ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

▪ Demonstrated ability to effectively relate and collaborate with individuals from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds.

▪ Reliable and adept at working collaboratively in a team environment.

▪ Proficiency in one or more ACT subject areas such as Math, Reading, Science, and English/Language Arts.

Part-time Willingness to travel: 50% (Preferred)
