Must be 21+ to apply. This key position supports adults with disabilities in their search for employment in the community. The Job Developer gains a thorough understanding of the interests of the individual and evidence-based employment principles. Gains working knowledge of participant's interests, abilities, and strengths based on available background information and personal observations of the individual. Assists individual in the program identify potential employers, search for jobs, complete applications, and attend interviews. Works with individuals to identify and overcome potential barriers to employment like transportation, availability to work, and other barriers. Communicates with employers and potential employers on an as-needed basis with the approval of the individual to help him or her overcome job-related issues. Spends 95% of work time on employment-related services. Maintains a case load of no more than 20 individuals referred for our services. Carries out all phases of employment for individuals in his or her case load including intake, engagement, assessment, job development, job coaching, and follow-along support. Actively participates on the inter-agency treatment teams for the individuals in his or her case load.
