Job Tasks Include:

Transporting students in a minivan or 16 passenger van Accompanying groups of 3-5 students off campus Providing job coaching to increase independence and job skills Providing positive reinforcement to encourage a growth mindset Ensuring the safety of the students at all time Providing direct instruction in work skills Make recommendations to OCS Coordinator, and Head of School regarding appropriate job accommodations. Completing daily paperwork to rate the student's performance Grading daily student reflections Counseling the students to improve their understanding of their abilities Communicating with the OCS counselor Completing necessary training Other tasks as assigned The ideal candidate for the OCS Job Coach Have understanding of job coaching or teaching practice Be at least 21 years of age Hold a valid driver's license Have experience working with children or adults, ideally those with special needs Pass a background check Be able to lift at least 50 pounds Be able to climb a flight of stairs Be able to walk a distance of at least 100 yards without rest Ability to stand for 3-4 hours at a time. The OCS job coach works during the school year, it is a 10 month position, beginning in August and running through May. Hours are 9:15-3:00 Monday-Friday. Lionheart Academy of the Triad is a specialized private school for students with autism. We focus on building social skills through fostering a growth mindset.

Pay:

$16.00 - $22.00 per hour
