Greenleaf Job Training Services, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) vocational rehabilitation agency committed to helping individuals overcome barriers to community employment. We are currently seeking part-time Pre-Employment Specialists to join our team and support individuals with disabilities as they gain independence through meaningful employment. This is a great opportunity for professionals with backgrounds in teaching, training, coaching, or social services who are passionate about empowering others. If you're self-sufficient, organized, calm under pressure, and an excellent communicator, this role is right up your alley. What Does a Pre-Employment Specialist Do at Greenleaf? As a Pre-Employment Specialist, you will: Work directly with individuals to explore career pathways, receive tutoring on various career support related subjects, and connect with community resources. Help participants gain access to the supports they need for success through a variety of services, including:

ID Obtainment/Replacement:

Assist with getting or replacing vital IDs like a driver's license or State ID needed for work or training.

Work Clothing Assistance:

Help participants shop for and purchase appropriate workwear or tools for their jobs or training programs.

Community Connections:

Connect participants to resources like childcare, housing, mental health services, or transportation.

Training Support:

Support participants in applying for college or training programs, including FAFSA and registration.

Vocational Consultation:

Determining if a Vocational Goal is an appropriate fit in the current job market, and make sure they have the appropriate training or skills.

Career Exploration:

Arrange job shadows or informational interviews so participants can learn directly from professionals in the field.

Travel Training:

Teach participants how to confidently use public transportation or navigate the community independently.

Tutoring:

Provide instruction on various topics (Driver's ED Temp Permit Training, Apprenticeship tests, teaching study skills, etc.). Create Service Plans and support skill development. Maintain timely and accurate documentation in SetWorks and ensure consistent communication with participants, counselors, and your supervisor.
