Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Companion / Caregiver to provide exceptional support and companionship to individuals in need of assistance with daily activities and personal care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those recovering from illness. The ideal candidate will be energetic, attentive, and committed to promoting independence, safety, and well-being. You will work closely with clients to ensure they feel valued, comfortable, and cared for in their homes or community settings. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor patients' health by observing vital signs, noting changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary. Support medication administration following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for privacy. Provide companionship through engaging conversations, recreational activities, and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces. Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts safely when assisting with mobility or transfers. Qualifications Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's care), memory care strategies, and hospice care practices. Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training, and medication administration are advantageous. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is a plus. Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks as needed. Strong communication skills and the ability to follow detailed care plans accurately.
