Job Description

Caregiver Job Description Duties:
  • Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Administer medications according to prescribed schedules
  • Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and organizing living spaces
  • Support residents in maintaining their rights and independence
  • Monitor and document vital signs and report any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to residents
  • Assist individuals with developmental disabilities in their daily routines
  • Implement care plans for individuals with dementia or autism
  • Lift and transfer residents using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
Experience:
  • Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with dementia care, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is a plus
  • Knowledge of medication administration, first aid, and vital signs monitoring is beneficial
Skills:
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
