Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated HHA/Caregiver to provide exceptional personal care and support to individuals in various care settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient observation, assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), and experience working with diverse populations, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring memory or dementia care. As an HHA/Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for your clients by delivering personalized care with professionalism, empathy, and respect. Responsibilities Assist clients with personal care needs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods and manual handling techniques. Monitor patients' vital signs and observe their condition closely to identify any changes or concerns, ensuring timely communication with healthcare professionals. Support clients in medication administration, meal preparation, and nutritional needs while adhering to care plans and resident's rights. Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being, especially for individuals with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or neurodevelopmental disorders. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and organizing living spaces. Assist with transportation for appointments or community outings using personal transportation assistance when necessary. Follow HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information and document all care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards. Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and first aid/CPR certification. Familiarity with care for individuals with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, or intellectual disabilities is preferred. Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with patient transfer methods such as the Hoyer lift safely and effectively. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams while respecting residents' rights. Experience working within HIPAA guidelines and maintaining confidentiality at all times. Valid certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or comparable caregiving credential; long-term care experience is advantageous. Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or evenings as needed.
