Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with disabilities or special needs, helping them achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life. Your work will be instrumental in fostering a supportive environment that promotes dignity, respect, and personal growth. Responsibilities Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming. Administer medication as prescribed and ensure compliance with healthcare protocols. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences. Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to enhance their emotional well-being. Support clients in community integration by accompanying them to appointments, social events, or recreational activities. Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks. Document client progress and report any changes in behavior or health to the appropriate personnel. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other support staff to develop individualized care plans. Skills Experience in caregiving or working in a nursing home or group home setting is preferred. Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety protocols. Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed when assisting clients with mobility or transfers. Strong cooking skills for meal preparation that meets the dietary requirements of clients. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members. A background in social work or related fields is a plus.
