We are Golden Acres Boarding Homes Inc. consisting of 9 houses in Hancock and Washington Counties, Maine. We serve people of all backgrounds and all abilities, ensuring physical, mental and emotional health and well-being, while maintaining their sense of self and the world around them. We work closely with family, guardians, medical personnel, and other agencies to arrange logistics and transportation to programs, appointments and recreation. A typical shift starts with a walk through. Staff leaving and staff coming on go through a list of items that, if left undone, the "staff leaving" must complete before they go, no exceptions. Check the calendar for appointments, read communication notes and Nursing notes, complete breakfast if needed, check for ingredients for lunch and take out food to thaw for future meals and put in the fridge, check what meds are needed next. In no particular order you would also be doing laundry, general cleaning, help residents if they need it with bathing, changing adult incontinence wear, and/or other hygiene needs, cook, assist residents in making a phone call, taking phone calls and more. There are also scheduled activities throughout the week. There is also documentation that must go with this work as mandated by the state. This is a busy and very important job to be done with people who need our assistance in a patient, kind, compassionate and professional manner. Don't forget a little eye contact, respect and conversation go a long way. Relocation assistance and living arrangements available for those willing to relocate. First come, First serve. PSS, CNA and/or CRMA certifications preferred but we will train the right person. You must have a desire to help people and do so with patience, empathy and professionalism - No Exceptions! Must be able and willing to: Follow directions. Work as part of a team towards a common goal. Work independently when needed, assuring all your responsibilities are completed. Thoroughly and accurately complete ALL necessary documentation. Learn all of the day to day tasks involved in maintaining the health and safety of the residents and their home.
