Home Life Health Care is hiring for a part time Personal Care Attendant in St. Ann. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, and home health environments. You will be instrumental in promoting independence, dignity, and well-being for those you serve by providing attentive, respectful care tailored to each individual's needs. Duties Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support. Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and accurately documenting observations in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support medication administration under supervision or as trained, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to care plans. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal consumption while respecting dietary restrictions and preferences. Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being, especially for individuals with dementia or neurodevelopmental disorders. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties, laundry, and ensuring infection control protocols are followed. Support patients during medical procedures or transfers, including patient personal care assistance and facilitating safe movement within the facility or home setting. Assist with transportation to appointments or community activities using appropriate personal transportation methods. Follow resident's rights policies diligently, ensuring respectful communication and privacy at all times. Participate in ongoing training on topics such as Alzheimer's care, hospice care, patient monitoring, first aid and CPR to stay current with best practices in caregiving. Experience At least year of medical setting experience is required Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate patient care across diverse populations including seniors, individuals with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or intellectual disabilities. Alzheimer's/Dementia experience Knowledge of care plans development and implementation tailored to individual needs. Experience with patient observation techniques including vital signs measurement and patient monitoring for changes in condition. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of protected health information (PHI). Hands-on experience with manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods is advantageous. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as medication administration or dementia care are a plus. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork within multidisciplinary settings.
