Job Description

Rate:
17 - 25 per hour
Schedule:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday — 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM (5 hours/day) — flexible with schedule
Location:
Yonkers, NY; family may Hopewell Junction, NY at end of March. Key Responsibilities Provide companion care : conversation, socialization, and encouragement to participate in activities the client enjoys (TV, sports, wrestling). Assist with personal care : bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing supervision, and hygiene assistance. Support mobility and transfers : ambulation assistance, fall prevention, and wheelchair use for appointments. Perform light household tasks : laundry, bed-making, light housekeeping, and meal support as needed. Run errands and transportation assistance to appointments when required; family vehicle available. Offer respite care to relieve the primary caregiver and coordinate with family regarding medication monitoring and fall-risk precautions. Communicate clearly with family about changes in condition, incidents, or scheduling. Required Qualifications Minimum 1-2 years experience caring for older adults or similar vulnerable populations. HHA, or equivalent training preferred but not required if experience is strong. Comfortable with assisting mobility and using a wheelchair for outings. Reliable, punctual, and compassionate with strong communication skills. Ability to follow care instructions and work cooperatively with family caregivers. Valid driver's license preferred. Non-smoker; comfortable working in a home with no pets. Preferred Traits Patient, warm, and engaging; enjoys conversation and companionship. Observant and proactive about safety and fall prevention.
