As a Weekend Caregiver, you will be vital in ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity for clients while promoting independence and well-being. Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods. Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption to ensure proper nutrition. Maintain detailed care plans, document patient progress, and update records related to patient care, medication administration, and incident reports. Provide companionship and emotional support, especially for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, ensuring their safety through vigilant patient observation. Support clients with mobility and transportation needs, assisting with outings or appointments within the community while ensuring safety protocols are followed. Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated experience in patient monitoring, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, or hospice care enhances your ability to deliver specialized support. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and privacy of client information at all times. Hands-on experience with patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or other manual handling equipment is essential. Knowledge of care plans development and implementation for individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders is advantageous. Experience working with seniors or individuals with intellectual disabilities supports your ability to provide compassionate long-term care. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while assisting residents with mobility or transfers is required for this role.
