Job Description

Job Summary Family based in East Stroudsburg looking for support for young adult male family member with Autism in family home setting. Official job name is In Home and Community support professional. Pay is 28.67/hr; 26 hours a week, with a strong possibility for more in the near future. Strong preference for someone experienced professionally or personally with the Autism/special needs field. Experience in the caregiving and home heath care realm will also be strongly considered. Looking to hire someone in 1,-2 weeks. Hiring process will be 3 step approach (virtual conversation, in home meet and greet, and then company onboarding). Must have reliable transportation. Compensation can be considered for time/mileage during second step. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in client home Assisting family and client by working on goals listed on ISP Monitor and supervise clients conditions on an hour by hour basis Supporting and understanding the needs of a special needs young adult Assist in the preparation of nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and assist with housekeeping duties (cleaning, laundry, etc) Maintain daily service notes documenting client interactions, behaviors and care activities accurately for ongoing treatment coordination. Communicate effectively with clients' families to ensure seamless delivery of home health services while respecting patient confidentiality. Be comfortable and effectively deescalate crisis situations Effectively work in tandem with multidisciplinary team to achieve behavioral outcomes Aware and undertstanding of confidentiality for HIPAA guidelines Must be comfortable working through problem behaviors in order to make progress on goals Developing rapport and spending time with client in community for events Qualifications as mentioned experience in special needs/autism is the biggest thing being looked for. Knowledge of home health care assistance techniques (ADLs, housekeeping, client monitoring, etc) Experience working with and effectively handling young adults with problem behaviors i.e. objections to requests, aggressive events, self injurious behaviors, inappropriate behaviors (disrobing )in the home. Friendly, Patient, and Kind Strong communication skills to effectively engage with client and family while maintaining professionalism standards. Crisis intervention and behavior modification experience strongly preferred Bilingual (fluent in Spanish ) preferred RBT certification a plus CPR qualification a plus
