Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caretaker to provide essential support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, and other health-related needs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of those in their care. This role requires a strong commitment to patient observation, monitoring, and assistance with daily activities, fostering a nurturing environment that promotes independence and dignity. Responsibilities Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, grooming, and dressing. Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients. Monitor patients' health status and report any changes or concerns to appropriate healthcare professionals. Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, enhancing their quality of life. Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, including those related to dementia care and hospice care. Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients. Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality. Document daily activities, observations, and any significant changes in the client's condition. Skills Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Strong skills in patient monitoring and observation to ensure health and safety. Knowledge of dementia care practices is beneficial for providing specialized support. Previous experience in home health or hospice care settings is an advantage. Ability to prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare providers. Patience, empathy, and a caring demeanor are essential qualities for success in this role.
