We're looking for the right caregiver for one specific client : a warm, sensitive 68-year-old woman in Dumfries who needs more than task-checking. She needs someone who shows up fully present.
A little about her:
She manages a colostomy bag independently and uses supplemental oxygen. She's currently dealing with a UTI, and when it flares, it hits her emotionally hard, bringing on real waves of depression and anxiety. She has a loving but tired husband and children who are involved in her care, and during these harder stretches, she deeply needs reassurance, gentle company, and someone to simply sit with her. What she needs from a caregiver: Genuine warmth and patience. This is a companionship-heavy role as much as a hands-on care role Comfort with emotional conversations: soothing presence, words of affirmation, holding her hand, playing calming music, telling stories, just being there A caregiver who can gently redirect difficult emotional moments without dismissing her feelings Experience with incontinence care (she wears protective undergarments and can have accidents en route to the bathroom) Assistance with ADLs, shower support, and meal prep Comfort supporting a client who uses a walker She has two Pomeranians — dog-lovers welcome
Schedule:
1:00 PM-5:00 PM, 7 days/week (5-day schedule negotiable for the right fit)
Location:
Dumfries, VA — no transportation duties required
Term:
Ongoing, no end date If you can sit with someone in a hard moment and make them feel less alone, this is the role, and she's the client, we'd love to talk to you about.
