Job Description

Job Summary Housing Case Manager, YWCA Central Indiana,-Muncie, IN Come join our team at YWCA. We are an organization that is making a difference in our community. YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. We are currently looking for an Emergency Shelter Program Housing Case Manager. The Housing Case Manager will assist homeless women (with or without families) to obtain/maintain housing and achieve their self-sufficiency goals. The Housing Case Manager will be actively involved in community outreach, case management, coordination of service providers, life skills instruction and provision of supportive services. Qualifications and Skills This position requires a Bachelor's degree in human services or related field with two (2) years' experience OR Associate's degree with four (4) years' experience. A thorough knowledge and understanding of housing, experience with vulnerable populations and social welfare services. Strong organizational and administrative skills especially relating to client file management and reporting. Commitment and ability to work with diverse populations. Basic knowledge of women's issues. Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to manage conflict constructively. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Skilled in managing time and meeting deadlines. Basic ability in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. Ability to work a schedule that includes one evening a week and occasional weekends. Must have or obtain criminal, child abuse and FBI fingerprinting clearances. Requires a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, clean driving history and proof of insurance.
