Public Interest law firm seeking Case Specialist. Our law firm helps individuals obtain Social Security and Veterans' disability benefits. This job is a great opportunity to help others while working in a legal environment. This full-time, entry level position needs an individual who can respond to and/or initiate communications with clients and government agencies as their claims process through the Initial and Reconsideration levels of Social Security disability appeals. Also, work in a casual, mission driven office assisting clients in obtaining treatment and services available to them, managing and monitoring cases through the early appeal process, assisting paralegals with administrative tasks and preparing routine legal correspondence. We need an individual who has good communication skills and is comfortable interacting with clients with serious medical/mental/financial issues. In addition, we need someone with the following traits: pleasant and customer-friendly demeanor; impeccable attention to detail; organization; personal initiative; good judgment; and tolerance for a fast-paced work environment. Prior legal experience is not a requirement, but a plus. All applicants are required to take acuity test prior to interview. For this position, we prefer the applicant have a college degree and/or in experience in customer service or working with governmental agencies. Compensation includes health insurance and other benefits. We have many long-tenured employees and advancement is possible. Again, this is an entry-level position with a commensurate entry-level salary depending on experience and education. We are located near highway 75 and Forrest in Dallas. Work hours M-F, 8:30 am-5:30 pm.
