Job Description
Job description: About the Role Are you passionate about empowering older adults and strengthening your community? Alliance for Aging is seeking enthusiastic Community Health Educators to lead engaging, in-person workshops that support the physical, mental, and social well-being of older adults. In this role, you will facilitate evidence-based workshops (6-10 weeks) focused on Falls Prevention, Chronic Disease Management, and Healthy, Active Living. You'll work with community partners such as senior centers, assisted living facilities, and faith-based organizations, helping participants gain practical tools to improve their quality of life. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact while enjoying a flexible schedule. Training and all materials are provided, and you are compensated for each workshop you deliver. Key Responsibilities Facilitate interactive, educational workshops for older adults Create a welcoming, safe, and respectful learning environment Encourage participation and meaningful group discussion Conduct community outreach to promote programs and resources Collaborate with community partners to meet local needs Collect participant feedback and program evaluations. Ideal Candidate Qualities Ability to build trust and rapport with diverse groups Strong sense of professionalism, integrity, and accountability Adaptable, collaborative, and culturally sensitive Self-motivated with sound judgment and a positive attitude Mature, dependable, and mission-driven Requirements & Preferred Experience Prior experience facilitating groups or educational sessions. Ability to work primarily weekday hours. Interest in aging-related topics (e.g., dementia, chronic conditions, fall prevention, mental health, social engagement). Experience in community education or outreach preferred. Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Familiarity with local community resources is a plus. Multilingual skills highly desirable. Ability to pass a Level 2 background screening. Reliable transportation and commitment to scheduled workshops.
