The position is full-time, exempt and is located at the Leawood campus at 13720 Roe Ave. Please see below for a full job description. Job Summary The Small Groups Program Director builds Christian community at the Leawood location as part of the larger Adult Discipleship pathway. As a member of the Adult Discipleship team, working with the Adult Discipleship Director, this position helps engage adults at Resurrection in small groups and studies. The Small Groups Program Director leads new group ministry initiatives by creating, refining, and distributing curriculum, developing volunteers into high-capacity leaders, and executing events and initiatives. This position also supports existing in-person and online small groups and short-term studies by recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers; connecting with group members; coordinating communication through newsletters and the church's website; managing room reservations and registrations; and providing excellent follow-up and data maintenance. This work serves as a churchwide model for small group ministry and Christian community, helping move congregants into next steps that lead them deeper into Christian faith.
Essential Responsibilities and Expectations:

Position-Specific Lead the development and/or dissemination of proven group curriculum and materials. Lead new small group ministry initiatives and support existing in-person and online small groups, short-term groups, and studies. Provide spiritual leadership, looking for opportunities to minister to and disciple and encourage others to grow in Christ through one-on-one conversations and invitations to discipleship opportunities. Counsel individuals regarding spiritual questions and concerns, directing them to further pastoral care when necessary. Demonstrate an understanding of the theology of the United Methodist Church and direct work in alignment with this theology. Recruit, manage, motivate, and equip volunteers. Develop volunteers and volunteer teams through frequent engagement, reflection, and troubleshooting, and help facilitate next steps for volunteer leaders, including goal setting, mentoring, spiritual encouragement, support, and conflict resolution. Build effective teams, identifying high-capacity leaders and equipping people for ministry. Work with the Adult Discipleship Director to provide timely information through continual assessment and evaluation, holding ministry accountable to key metrics and benchmarks that not only track activity, but ultimately yield quantitative growth in engagement and participation. Build on the work of small group ministries, studies, and short-term opportunities to help develop or modify ministries and programs to meet the needs, fulfill the potential, and accomplish the vision of the Church of the Resurrection. Support the ministry through administrative details such as room reservations, email follow-up, creation and management of sign-up forms, newsletters, and maintenance of information in the church's database. Collaborate with other areas of ministry to design or deliver programming. Collaborate with the Adult Discipleship team to support special events such as conferences, meetings, seminars, or retreats. Participate in regular Adult Discipleship team meetings and programming. Maintain an active, consistent, and visible presence in the community. Other duties as assigned.
