More than 30 Starting Salary Range $55,000-60,000 Description The mission of Our Lady of Peace is "Drawing near in community. Drawing near to Jesus." We are seeking a Director of Faith Formation who is passionate about bringing people together and leading them to Jesus. This employee works closely with the pastor to implement his vision and the Archbishop's, and to ensure alignment with all Archdiocesan standards. More specifically, the Director of Faith Formation will be responsible for creating, executing, growing, and supporting adult evangelization and catechetical efforts, including small groups, Bible studies, Alpha, and the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA). He or she will also manage, execute, and grow catechetical programs for preschool-5th grade children and their parents, including Family Faith Formation program and sacrament preparation for baptism and First Reconciliation/First Communion. Finally, the Director of Faith Formation will collaborate with the Director of Youth Ministry, who is responsible for middle and high school faith formation and confirmation preparation. The Director of Faith Formation will also be responsible for managing and growing Eucharistic Adoration in the parish. We see this as tied to the evangelization and catechetical efforts, which must be grounded in and supported by prayer and relationship with Jesus Christ. Qualifications Be a practicing, prayerful, joyful Catholic who is comfortable speaking about Jesus, faith, and Catholic teaching Possesses bachelor's degree in Theology, Religious Education, Catechesis, Catholic Studies, or other related field -or- demonstrated fundamental competence and commitment to ongoing formation Passionate about drawing people to Christ and teaching the Catholic Faith Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills Possesses a creative approach to problem solving Able to recruit volunteers, develop their gifts and talents, and supervise and collaborate with them Consults and collaborates with school leadership to promote a common vision for faith formation Highly organized and able to keep complete and accurate records Able to manage concurrent tasks/stay on track even when interrupted Attentive and able to discern situations requiring confidentiality, and maintain that confidentiality Able to work 40+ hours per week, including some evenings and weekends Knows and abides by the Archdiocesan Safe Environment standards and requirements
