Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Admissions and Enrollment Coordinator is part of the Office of Graduate and Professional Admission in the Peabody College of education and human development at Vanderbilt University and is an individual contributor responsible for supporting efforts to attract, recruit, and enroll top candidates for all campus and online programs and other non-degree certificates and micro credential. This position reports to the Senior Director of Strategic Enrollment Management About the
Work Unit:
The Office of Graduate and Professional Admissions collaborates with colleagues in the Dean's office, faculty, campus partners, and external stakeholders to expand Peabody's impact and reach. The office's primary goal is to recruit and support the enrollment of well-qualified students and learners for degree programs and lifelong professional education and credential offerings.
Key Functions and Expected Performance:
Personalized Admissions Support:
Provide individualized guidance and support to prospective students throughout the admissions process, addressing questions and concerns to facilitate informed decision-making.
Networking and Outreach:
Present at partner organizations, graduate school fairs and undergraduate classrooms on Peabody's portfolio. Communicate consistently and meaningfully with students via phone, email, and SMS as needed for proper funnel management. Travel if necessary.
Admissions Communications and Campaign Execution:
Execute prospective student, applicant, admitted student, and enrollment communications in Slate and other approved platforms in alignment with Peabody's admissions communications strategy. Use approved templates, messaging, and brand standards to ensure students receive accurate, consistent, and student-centered information throughout the enrollment lifecycle. Share student feedback and recurring questions to help inform future communications and outreach efforts.
Event Coordination:
Assist in the planning and execution of recruitment events, online and in-person information sessions, and outreach activities aimed at engaging prospective students and promoting the advantages of Peabody programs.
Application Review Support:
Thoroughly assess student applications, facilitate interviews, and engage with faculty to ensure the timely and accurate determination of admissions decisions that align with institutional objectives and priorities.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Literacy with recruitment metrics and data that assesses the effectiveness of recruitment strategies.
Performance Measurement:
Collaborate with the Sr. Director of Strategic Enrollment Management to develop Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) related to recruitment efforts, analyzing data to measure effectiveness and inform continuous improvement strategies.
Candidate Tracking & System Management:
Maintain accurate and current records of all candidate interactions while leveraging Vanderbilt's systems and tools to streamline and support recruiting processes.
Internal Collaboration:
Partner with all areas of Peabody and Vanderbilt to collaborate on cohesive outreach campaigns, informational sessions, and events that effectively engage early career professionals.
Institutional Knowledge:
Maintain a thorough understanding of the university's academic offerings, admission requirements, and financial aid options to effectively advise students on their options.
Supervisory Relationships:
- This role does not entail direct supervisory responsibilities for full-time or part-time staff members. This position reports directly to the Sr. Director of Strategic Enrollment Management. Education and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education is required.
- A master's degree from an accredited institution in higher education administration, business, public policy, or related field is preferred.
Experience and Skills:
Experience:
2-3 years of experience in higher education admissions and enrollment experience or equivalent.
Technologies:
Experience using Slate is preferred. An aptitude for learning quickly is required.
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively. Exceptional organizational and project management abilities are essential. Ability to provide excellent customer service. Strong sales skills and time management are needed to handle the multiple tasks placed upon the position.
Analytical Skills:
Experience in utilizing data-driven approaches for decision making and strategy development.
