$22-23 per hour Help Youth and Families Move from Referral to Meaningful Services EmotiCare is seeking a compassionate, organized, and persistent Intake & Client Engagement Coordinator to serve as the primary liaison between clients, families, referral sources, and EmotiCare programs. This position combines intake coordination, community-based outreach, and case management. The coordinator does more than complete an intake—the coordinator remains involved until the client is successfully connected with services and actively participating. The primary goal of this position is to prevent clients from becoming lost or disengaged after intake. Through consistent telephone, telehealth, and electronic outreach, the coordinator will maintain contact with clients and families, identify barriers, coordinate next steps, and help services begin as quickly as possible. Key Responsibilities Receive and screen referrals for eligibility and service appropriateness Gather required demographic, clinical, insurance, and supporting documentation Coordinate intake appointments, assessments, admissions, and program onboarding Serve as the primary liaison between the client or family and the receiving EmotiCare program Maintain active follow-up after intake until services have started and the client is successfully engaged Contact clients and families by telephone, telehealth, text, email, and other approved communication methods Provide reminders, encouragement, and practical support to promote continued participation Track each client's progress from initial referral through admission and connection to services Identify and help resolve barriers involving scheduling, transportation, documentation, communication, or family readiness Alert program leadership when a client is at risk of experiencing a delay or disengaging from services Coordinate warm handoffs to therapists, community-based outreach workers, case managers, and other assigned providers Communicate with guardians, referral sources, health plans, case managers, and other involved professionals Coordinate appointments, assessments, transportation needs, and other service-related activities Provide telehealth and community-based support to clients and families as assigned Help clients and families connect with appropriate internal and community resources Participate in treatment planning, case staffing, service coordination, and discharge planning Coordinate discharge activities, aftercare recommendations, and continuity of care Maintain accurate referral, outreach, engagement, and case coordination records Complete timely and professional documentation of all client contacts and follow-up efforts Protect confidential information and comply with HIPAA, organizational policies, and applicable behavioral health requirements What Success Looks Like Success in this position means: Clients move from intake into services without unnecessary delays Families know who to contact and understand what happens next Missed appointments and communication gaps receive prompt follow-up Barriers are identified and addressed before clients disengage Program staff receive complete information and a clear, coordinated handoff Outreach efforts and client progress are consistently documented Clients remain connected and engaged throughout the transition into care What We Are Looking For The successful candidate will be: Warm, encouraging, and skilled at building relationships by telephone and telehealth Persistent with follow-up without making clients or families feel pressured Highly organized and able to manage multiple referrals, cases, and deadlines simultaneously A strong communicator who follows through consistently Comfortable engaging clients who may be hesitant, overwhelmed, or difficult to reach Able to recognize barriers and develop practical solutions Comfortable working independently while coordinating closely with a multidisciplinary team Flexible and able to respond calmly when client needs or schedules change Passionate about helping youth and families access and remain connected to care Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in behavioral health, social services, admissions, client engagement, case management, care coordination, or community-based programs Experience working with children, adolescents, and families Familiarity with behavioral health referrals, documentation, insurance verification, or service coordination Strong telephone, telehealth, computer, data-entry, and record-management skills High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant college education or behavioral health training preferred Ability to meet applicable Arizona Behavioral Health Technician qualifications preferred Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record Ability to obtain or maintain required fingerprint clearance, CPR/First Aid certification, and other employment clearances Why Join EmotiCare?
