Job Description

Early Childhood Mental Health Program is a highly respected non-profit agency that provides mental health services to young children and their families in Contra Costa County. We are seeking an experienced preschool mental health consultant for a temporary position with a potential for permanent employment to join our diverse team. This position provides culturally sensitive preschool mental health consultation services, within Head Start Preschools across Contra Costa County (West, Central, and East). We work in collaboration with preschool and daycare directors, site supervisors, teachers, and families to assist young children who are exhibiting behavioral difficulties or who seem to need additional support in engaging with peers and caregivers. Our families face the stress of trauma, migration, domestic and community violence, economic hardship, substance abuse, and maternal depression, among others. REQUIREMENTS
Bilingual in English/Spanish Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, social welfare, psychology, counseling, or a related field. Five years' experience working in a preschool or daycare setting and/or providing therapy services to young children and their families. Holder of a California driver's license in good standing and access to a reliable automobile with the legally required minimum insurance coverage. Must submit to fingerprinting and be cleared by the California Department of Justice and the FBI for criminal and child abuse background checks.
PREFERRED SKILLS
