A Family, School, or General Social Worker provides specialized assistance to vulnerable families and children. Intervenes in crisis situations; evaluates individual and family needs, helps clients get access to health care, mental health care or social services such as housing assistance. Advocates for clients and provides follow up visits. May work with teachers, parents and school administrators to help students improve academically and deal with social issues such as bullying.

Completed Master's Degree Clinical Licensure from the State of Maine (LMSW-cc, LCSW, LMFT, LCPC, LCPC-CC) Ability to work as part of a team, demonstrate good judgement, and the willingness to help creatively and collaboratively problem-solve required. Must have the ability to develop rapport and work with a diverse population of students and families with a wide range of cultural and economical backgrounds. Must have the ability to be flexible at times to meet the changing demands of the students, greater school population and culture, and help manage potential crisis situations as the arise.

While working for MSS, you will have the opportunity to: Provide individual and group therapy to students based upon their identified treatment needs. Complete Comprehensive Assessments and Individualized Treatment Plans to help students meet their academic and social/emotional goals Collaborate daily with BHP's and teachers to help children and young adults improve their day-to-day functioning within a classroom setting Provide clinical supervision to BHP's to help inform treatment needs. Complete Functional Behavioral Analysis for assigned students in accordance with IEP standards. Attend all IEP meetings and other meetings as required Document all services and complete all required documents by their established deadlines Maintain client files and complete progress notes and billing summary sheets accurately.
