Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, patient, and kind individual to join our York Middle School Wildcat team as a Part-Time Cafe and Recess Monitor for the upcoming school year. This role helps students navigate the social, interactive and physical time of their day in a healthy, safe manner with supportive adults. The ideal candidate will be a consistent, positive and engaging presence who is able to actively support the vast needs of middle level children.

ResponsibilitiesSupervise students ages 9-14 in the cafeteria and on the playground during recess.

Work collaboratively with a team of three other adults to support a student body of approximately 475 students.

Actively engage with students, fostering positive social interactions and conflict resolution.

Address the social needs of students in a compassionate and proactive manner.

Assist in maintaining a safe and structured lunch and recess environment.

This is a school-year position, starting on August 31, 2026, and ending on or after June 15, 2027, depending on the school calendar and any potential snow days.
Qualifications:
