Job Description

This contract opportunity is set in a vibrant community near Belding, MI, and offers the chance to work closely with approximately 40 students, fostering their academic, social, and emotional growth from late August through mid-May. Bring your passion for student support to an onsite environment where collaboration, empathy, and innovation are valued each day.
Requirements:
Approval from the Michigan Department of Education as a School Social Worker Proven experience delivering social work services in a school setting Strong communication and advocacy skills for working with students, staff, and families Ability to manage and prioritize a diverse caseload effectively Knowledge of current best practices in social-emotional learning and behavioral interventions
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver targeted social work interventions and counseling to elementary and preschool students Conduct assessments to identify barriers to learning and collaborate on strategies to overcome them Partner with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement support plans Facilitate social skills groups, restorative practices, and crisis intervention as needed Maintain detailed records and comply with state and district documentation protocols
