Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a difference supporting students from grades K-12 as a Social Worker/Counselor specializing in Multi-Tier Systems of Support (MTSS). This full-time contract role runs from August 17, 2026, to June 11, 2027, at a reputable school district near Davison, MI. You'll work on-site 35 hours per week, closely collaborating with educators, families, and administrators to promote students' academic and social-emotional growth.

Key Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) or Counseling from an accredited institution Current Michigan licensure as a social worker (LMSW) or counselor (LPC) required; limited licenses (LLMSW/LLPC) considered with the expectation of obtaining full licensure MDE School Social Work Approval needed Prior experience in a public school or related setting strongly preferred Previous involvement with collaborative teams Comfortable working onsite and managing K-12 caseloads

Primary Responsibilities:

Assess data collection methods, analyze student information, and recommend intervention strategies for staff and administrators Design and implement tiered interventions; consult with teachers; coordinate services for students and families with multiple needs Participate actively in MTSS meetings, student support teams, and parent conferences Guide staff in research-based, data-driven intervention strategies Maintain thorough, accurate student documentation and logs Meet regularly with MTSS Supervisor to report on student progress Use effective behavior management techniques when providing individual and group interventions Support parents in engaging with their child's educational process and coordinate services for families Candidates must prepare to provide official university transcripts, valid LARA license, and MDE SW Approval prior to an interview.
