Job Description
We are seeking a responsible and enthusiastic After School Care Worker to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year. The After Care Worker will be responsible for supervising and engaging with children in a safe and nurturing environment during after school hours. This position requires someone who is passionate about working with children, reliable, and capable of creating a fun and enriching experience for our students. The preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong & active Christian faith with a solid knowledge of the Bible. He/She will understand & be committed to the mission & vision of Christian education, specifically that of Kalamazoo Christian. Responsibilities Supervise children in a safe and supportive environment during after school hours. Plan and implement age-appropriate activities, games, and crafts. Assist children with homework and provide academic support when needed. Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff members. Maintain a clean and organized workspace. Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care. Schedule 2:45-5:45 pm daily, possibility of flexible schedule if you are not available every day of the week No after care program when there is no school or on half days Requirements CPR and First Aid certification preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Reliable and punctual. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Upon hire Must complete the required Michigan Ongoing Health and Safety Training Modules A, B and C (online), attain CPR certification, and complete Bloodborne Pathogen training before day 1 Must complete fingerprint background check by MiLEAP Must complete 16 hours of professional development annually Training costs and time are paid for by KCS
