Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a difference in the lives of elementary students by providing dedicated support during an important maternity leave coverage. This contract opportunity is perfect for compassionate, experienced school social workers ready to step into a vital role for the months of November and December 2026. You'll be supporting two vibrant elementary school communities near Oxford, MI, and collaborating with educators and families to foster students' well-being and academic success.
Key Qualifications:
Current licensure as a School Social Worker in Michigan Demonstrated experience in educational or child-centered settings, preferably at the elementary level Strong communication, organization, and advocacy skills Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, families, and external resources Knowledge of relevant laws, guidelines, and best practices in school social work
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and support to individual students and groups Develop and implement intervention strategies to address academic, behavioral, emotional, and social challenges Collaborate on IEP and 504 plans, attending meetings and contributing valuable insights for student support Partner with faculty and staff to create a positive, inclusive learning environment Assist families in accessing community resources to support students' overall well-being
