Full Job Description Job Title:
MTSS Coordinator Location:
Remote (Must reside in AZ) Reports to: Principal, K-8
Employment Type:
Exempt/Full-Time About Primavera Online School:
Primavera Online School is an accredited, tuition-free public charter school serving students across Arizona for more than 25 years. We specialize in flexible, student-centered online education designed to meet learners where they are—academically, emotionally, and socially. We believe every student deserves access to an education that adapts to their life, not the other way around. At Primavera, we support diverse learners, empower families, and partner closely with educators to create personalized learning experiences that drive real outcomes. Our work is grounded in care, accountability, and a deep commitment to helping students succeed—both in school and beyond. As a fully remote organization, we value clear communication, collaboration, and ownership. You'll find a mission-driven team that takes its responsibility to students seriously while supporting one another as professionals and humans.
The Team You Will Join:
You'll join a collaborative team of educators, intervention specialists, Academic Success Coaches, Special Education staff, counselors, Assessment & Accountability, and school leaders who work together to remove barriers to learning. No two days are exactly alike. You'll partner across departments, solve problems using data, and help ensure every student receives the support they need to succeed.
The Difference You Will Make:
As the MTSS Coordinator, you'll lead Primavera's Multi-Tiered System of Supports by building systems that identify student needs early, coordinate interventions, and monitor progress across the school. Your work will directly impact student achievement, attendance, engagement, and academic outcomes by ensuring intervention processes are implemented with fidelity, data drives decision-making, and staff have the tools and resources needed to support every learner. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys improving systems, collaborating across teams, solving problems through data, and making a meaningful impact on students in a virtual learning environment.
A Typical Day Looks Like:
While no two days are exactly the same, you can expect to: Coordinate and continuously improve Primavera's MTSS framework. Facilitate Student Intervention Team (SIT) meetings and monitor follow-up actions. Analyze academic, attendance, behavior, engagement, and benchmark data to identify students needing additional support. Collaborate with teachers, Academic Success Coaches, counselors, Special Education, and school leadership to implement interventions. Coordinate DIBELS administration, benchmark screening windows, and progress monitoring cycles. Oversee the daily work and priorities of the MTSS Data Specialist. Develop MTSS procedures, guidance documents, professional learning, and staff resources. Support Tier II and Tier III interventions as needed. Assist with temporary instructional coverage when operational needs require. Participate in state testing, school events, and family engagement activities. Continuously improve systems, documentation, and processes that support student success. Performs other duties aligned to the role and organizational needs as assigned. All coordinators are required to actively support and participate in state-mandated testing periods. This is considered an essential function of the role. Participation in state testing is a condition of employment for all instructional and student-facing roles. Must be available to work in person for approximately six weeks each year to support Arizona state testing, including travel to assigned testing locations. Coordinators must be able to travel to assigned testing locations within the state of Arizona, including locations outside of their home city. Attendance during state testing is mandatory, and time off will not be approved during designated testing windows except as required by law and in extraordinary circumstances. Administrators are required to assist with proctoring, coordination, and student support during testing. Attendance at key school events (e.g., student orientations, school-sponsored activities, and other events aligned to this role) is required, based on role responsibilities and reasonable proximity to the event location. These events may occur outside of regular working hours and may require occasional travel. This position requires availability to work core business hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Arizona time, Monday through Friday.
Your Expertise Includes:
We're looking for someone who brings: Valid Standard Professional Arizona Teaching Certificate. Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced virtual environment. Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card Strong knowledge of MTSS, intervention systems, Child Find, progress monitoring, and student support.
