The Rochester & Stockbridge Unified District seeks a part-time Farm-to School Coordinator for the 2026-2027 school year and this could be the perfect fit for you! The primary responsibilities of this position will be to develop and grow the Rochester & Stockbridge Farm-to-School (F2S) programs. The position runs from August 24, 2026 until mid-August 2027 for an average of 10 hours per week (seasonal differences in number of hours is expected).

The Rochester-Stockbridge Farm-to-School Coordinator will:

Oversee School Gardens and Farm-to-School Lessons and ProgramsCoordinate with classrooms & Farm-to-School (F2S) committee to plant, maintain, and harvest school gardensCreate and document lesson plans and deliver in-class workshops on food and relevant agriculture topicsConduct Harvest of the Month Taste Tests by cooking with students and serving at lunch Facilitate and lead farm field tripsBuild Internal Capacity for Farm-to-School programmingServe as the primary contact for all F2S activities Collaborate with staff, parents, food service director, outdoor educator, and local farmersPartner with RSUD Farm-to-School Committee to organize school & community events, including Junior Iron ChefPhotograph activities to document programming Contribute educational articles and Taste Test results to school newslettersExpand Community Outreach Develop and maintain relationships with community partners Help plan and attend community events, such as harvest festivals and locavore dinners Recruit and train community volunteers Work with WRVSU Community Schools Coordinator to design and distribute outreach and publicity materials Submit approved F2S pictures to RSUD social media (Facebook, Instagram) Qualifications Valid drivers license and reliable transportationKnowledge of local food systems and sustainable agriculture Some teaching (formal or non-formal) experience Strong interest in working with children Some knowledge of gardening and vegetable production Excellent public speaking, writing skills and organizational skills Strong interpersonal skills Comfort working in a kitchen (home or commercial) desirable but not required
