Victim Advocate The Advocate provides support, advocacy, and resources to individuals affected by domestic violence, sexual violence, stalking, dating violence, and human trafficking. This role involves empowering survivors, facilitating access to services, and promoting awareness of violence prvention within the community.

Duties:

Include but are not limited to: Direct Services

• Provide emotional support, safety planning, crisis intervention, and referrals to clients. Assist clients with navigating legal, medical, and social service systems. Accompany clients to court hearings, medical appointments, and other necessary services. Assist with protective orders, housing applications, and other documentation as needed. Advocacy
• Advocate on behalf of clients with service providers, law enforcement, and other community partners. Maintain accurate and confidential records of cleint interactions and services provided. Develop individualized service plans in collaboration with clients. Education and Outreach
• Conduct community outreach and awareness activities to promote understanding of domestic and sexual violence issues. Facilitate training sessions for community members, law enforcement, and other stakeholders. Distribute educational materials on domestic and sexual prevention and intervention. Collaboration
• Work collaboratively with other advocates, counselors, and community organizations to ensure comprehensive support for clients. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to improve service coordination. Build and maintain partnership with local agencies and legal services. Program Support
• Assist in grant reporting and data collection as required. Contribute to program development and evaluation to improve service delivery. Qualifications

Education and Experence:

Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Experience working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence is highly preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

Understanding of trauma-informed care and crisis intervention techniques. Familiarity with local resources for survivors. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and advocacy skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to manange multiple priorities.

Other Requirements:

Completion of mandated advocate training Ability to work rotating on-call shifts. Valid driver's license and reliable tranportation. Completion of Criminal Background Check is required.
