JOB REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED Driver's license, automobile insurance, and reliable vehicle Knowledge/skill in successfully rearing young children Knowledge/skill in motivating pregnant mothers and families with children 0-3 Knowledge of community and service available Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb steps on a daily basis Ability to deal with families in crisis frequently Ability to attend day long and overnight trainings occasionally
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Recruits pregnant women or mothers with children from birth to age three and/or expectant mothers and fathers. As a part time staff, maintains a caseload of up to 14 families. Conducts home visits with all families on caseload on a regular basis, focusing on parents to show them how they can build their own and their child's skills. Develops activities for each mother and child to include topics such as medical, dental, mental health, nutrition, safety, culture, etc. Plans socialization activities that bring parents together in a relaxed group. Completes evaluative paperwork on family and child's needs at the end of each home visit and documents family contacts on an on-going basis.
