Job Description
SUMMARY OF MAJOR FUNCTIONS
Therapist is responsible for coordinating the delivery of quality clinical services to clients, to maintain standards of service, and to participate in multi-disciplinary treatment and management teams.DUTIES:
1. Providing individual, family, and group counseling. 2. Provides clinical services to an assigned group of clients, demonstrating theoretical knowledge of mental health, chemical dependency, and family systems and skills in assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, discharge planning, and documentation. 3. Assess level of care placement, diagnosis, medical necessity, and necessity for continued stay at the appropriate level of care. 4. Facilitates individual and group therapy sessions with assigned groups of clients, demonstrating knowledge of mental health, chemical dependence and the principles and techniques of individual, family, and group therapy. 5. Conducts educational group and didactic sessions including parenting education, displaying good theoretical knowledge of subject matter and effective communication skills in delivering material. 6. Participates as an active member of the multi-disciplinary treatment and management team. 7. Actively involved in outreach and public relations to promote agency programs to the larger community and service network. 8. Completes all documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes and discharge summaries, maintaining compliance with the policies and procedures of the agency, Medi-Cal requirements, and other accrediting organizations including state and county monitoring audits. 9. Maintains quality contacts with referral sources including managed care companies. 10. Maintains consistent schedule of treatment activities, staff meetings, and utilization review meetings. 11. Performs other MFI Counseling Center services as assigned.POSITION EXPECTATIONS 1.
Full-time and salaried staff are expected to consistently keep a 60% productivity rating (60% of your time is spent providing face to face billable client services). 2. Per kept appointment staff are expected to consistently keep a minimum average of 10 clients on a caseload for trainees and 20 clients on a caseload for interns. 3. Staff is expected to complete all required Relias Trainings with in the allotted time frame assigned by supervisor. 4. Staff is expected to be ready to present a recorded clinical session for every group supervision. 5. Staff is expected to complete all notes within 24 hours of service completion. 6. Staff is expected to submit their notes for supervision approval with 48hrs of treatment session. 7. Staff is expected to complete their initial assessment for services in 2 sessions with client. 8. Staff is expected to discharge clients that are inactive for 1 monthsQUALIFICATIONS

Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Must be insurable at standard automobile rates and maintain the ability to be insured throughout the course of employment.
- Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint clearance.
- Department of Justice fingerprint clearance.
- Pass drug screening test.
- Negative tuberculosis test.
LICENSE:
- Must possess and maintain a valid California driver's license during the course of employment BBS registered as an Associate level clinician (AMFT, ACSW, APCC).
- Mobility sufficient to move about, climb stairs, stand, and/or sit for extended periods, and access all locations in the work environment
- Manual skill to appropriately control and manipulate objects, tools, materials, and equipment used on the job, including a telephone and a computer
- Flexibility and strength to reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop
- Facility to hear and understand speech at normal room levels, and to hear and understand speech, both in live and on telephone communications
- Facility to speak in audible tones those others may understand clearly in normal conversations, both in live and on telephone communications
- Facility to see, read and distinguish colors, with or without vision aids; computer screens equipment used in the work environment, instructional materials, training materials, written directions, rules, policies, calendars, agenda, manuals and other printed matter
- Physical strength and agility to push, pull, squat, twist, turn, and lift and carry bulky objects of up to 20 pounds
- Behavioral health acuity to perform the essential functions of this position in a safe, accurate, neat, and timely fashion.
- Must successfully complete the introductory probationary employment period
