A Mental or Behavioral Health Counselor works with patients to treat mental health problems. Assesses patients and assists with diagnosis, counseling and crisis intervention. Consults with nurses, doctors and psychiatrists. May work with specific populations, such as youth, senior citizens or substance abusers, in group settings, facilities or hospitals.
The Outpatient Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the smooth, efficient, and compliant day-to-day functioning of program operations across one or more designated sites. This includes supervising staff schedules, monitoring facility safety and readiness, coordinating logistical and administrative processes, and supporting the delivery of consistent, high-quality services to consumers and residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day site operations to ensure safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance. Monitor and ensure staff adherence to established procedures, including client supervision, documentation, and scheduling protocols. Conduct regular walkthroughs of facilities to identify and address maintenance, safety, or operational issues. Maintain inventory of supplies and coordinate ordering, stocking, and distribution as needed. Support the coordination of transportation, meals, and other logistics tied to client care or daily program functions. Provide on-site leadership to front-line staff during scheduled shifts, support with problem solving and decision-making. Manage staff schedules, shift coverage, and time-off requests to ensure adequate staffing levels. Ensure program operations align with licensing, accreditation, and organizational standards. Work closely with program managers, clinical staff, and administrative teams to support integrated service delivery.
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
Required Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years in an operational, supervisory, or logistical support role, preferably in a human services or healthcare setting Experience working in behavioral health, residential programs, or social services preferred Familiarity with regulatory compliance (e.g., OSHA, DCF, DBHDD, Medicaid, CARF) is a plus

Strong problem-solving skills with the capacity to handle complex situations and make informed decisions. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards related to outpatient services. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
