Overview Foundations to Healing, Inc. is seeking a compassionate and skilled Primary Therapist to join our growing team. The Primary Therapist is responsible for providing therapeutic group and individual counseling services within the Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Outpatient (OP) programs. This role focuses on delivering evidence-based, trauma-informed care that fosters recovery, accountability, and long-term positive change. The ideal candidate is deeply committed to person-centered care, demonstrates strong clinical skills, and practices from a trauma-informed framework. This position requires a facilitator who can create a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for clients working toward recovery, accountability, and long-term positive change.

Duties:

A s a Primary Therapist, Employee shall perform the following duties and obligations as part of Employee's employment:

• Facilitate therapeutic group sessions in the

PHP/IOP/OP

programs, incorporating evidence-based interventions, trauma-informed practices, and structured group activities that foster peer support, accountability, and personal growth.

• Provide individual counseling sessions to assess client progress, identify barriers to recovery, and collaboratively develop personalized treatment plans that highlight each client's unique strengths, goals, and cultural considerations.
• Deliver approved curricula for PHP, IOP, OP, and, when assigned, BIP/DUI programs, ensuring consistency, program fidelity, and a supportive learning environment.
• Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to evaluate client history, needs, treatment readiness, and to determine the most appropriate level of care and services.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and clinically sound documentation of all sessions, treatment progress, and client interactions, in accordance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare detailed progress reports and communicate effectively with referral sources, including courts, probation officers, and treatment providers, to ensure coordination of care and compliance with legal or program requirements.
• Collaborate actively with a multidisciplinary team—counselors, peer specialists, case managers, probation officers, and other professionals—to provide holistic and integrated client support.
• Respond calmly and appropriately to crisis situations, prioritizing client and community safety while offering non-judgmental, solution-focused support.
• Promote recovery-oriented outcomes by empowering clients to build practical coping strategies, increase accountability, strengthen resilience, and sustain long-term wellness.
• Stay current on best practices in Substance use, BIP and Dui counseling, as well as relevant legal changes.
• Attend required training and certification programs as needed
• Comply with all Foundations' policies and procedures.
• Performing all other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Qualifications :

Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field (required). Licensed or license-eligible in Florida (LMHC, LCSW, LMFT) (required); Experience facilitating group counseling in a substance use or behavioral health setting. Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and person-centered treatment approaches. Familiarity with evidence-based practices for substance use, co-occurring disorders, and behavioral change.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Strong verbal and written communication. Ability to build rapport with diverse clients. Knowledge of evidence-based practices in group and individual sessions. Crisis management and conflict resolution skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple clients. Knowledge of substance abuse and mental health therapy. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to deliver culturally and age-appropriate care.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Primarily office-based, indoor work. Occasional stooping, bending, leaning, or lifting up to 30 lbs. Ability to travel as needed. Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to evaluate, intervene, and document client needs.

Schedule & Salary Schedule:

Expected hours: 8-hour shift, Monday-Friday, with flexibility for some evenings and weekends
