Clinical Director Position Summary The Therapeutic Residential Coach provides emotional, behavioral, and relationship-based support to youth living in the residential program. This position focuses on helping residents build coping skills, regulate emotions, resolve conflicts, and develop healthy relationships through daily therapeutic interactions, individual coaching, and structured group activities. This role is ideal for individuals pursuing careers in counseling, psychology, social work, behavioral analysis, or human services. Essential Responsibilities Therapeutic Engagement Conduct daily emotional check-ins with residents. Build trusting relationships through consistent engagement. Provide one-on-one coaching and support. Facilitate small therapeutic groups focused on coping skills, communication, emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and goal setting. Behavioral Support Provide de-escalation during emotional or behavioral crises. Collaborate with BCBA for individual resident incentives. Teach coping strategies and emotional regulation techniques. Reinforce positive behavior using trauma-informed approaches. Crisis Intervention Recognize early warning signs of behavioral escalation. Utilize approved crisis prevention and intervention techniques. Maintain resident and staff safety during incidents. Notify supervisors of significant behavioral concerns. Collaboration Work closely with clinical team, residential team, and leadership. Share observations regarding resident progress meetings. Participate in treatment staffings and discussions Documentation Complete progress note after each shift. Document therapeutic interventions. Report incidents according to agency policy. Record all referrals and community partner engagement. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Human Services, or a related field. Experience working with youth who have experienced trauma, behavioral & mental health needs. Case management experience preferred. Valid driver's license. Knowledge & Skills Trauma-informed care Motivational interviewing Crisis intervention Emotional regulation coaching Conflict resolution Active listening Professional boundaries Documentation Performance Expectations Every resident receives meaningful daily therapeutic engagement. Therapeutic groups are facilitated consistently. Behavioral concerns are addressed proactively. Crisis situations are managed safely and professionally. Strong relationships are developed with residents. Behavioral documentation is completed accurately before the end of each shift.
Compensation Salary Range:
$45,000 - $51,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and credentials.
