RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide individual and group counseling services to address students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Conduct mental health assessments and collaborate with school teams to identify barriers impacting student learning and well-being. Develop and implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions that promote coping skills, self-regulation, and resilience. Deliver crisis intervention and support to students experiencing urgent mental health needs. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to integrate mental health strategies into the educational environment. Participate in IEP and 504 meetings as appropriate, offering input on social-emotional goals and recommended supports. Maintain accurate case notes, treatment plans, and compliance documentation in alignment with school, district, and state requirements. Provide consultation and training to school staff on mental health awareness, classroom strategies, and trauma-informed practices. Refer students and families to outside mental health or community resources when additional services are needed. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in school-based counseling, child/adolescent development, and mental health care.
