The Mental Health Support Coordinator provides non-clinical, person-centered support to individuals and groups working toward mental health and wellness goals. Using recovery-oriented practices, this position partners with participants to build life skills, increase independence, and achieve personally meaningful goals. This role focuses on empowerment, self-determination, and community integration rather than clinical treatment. Key Responsibilities Individual Support Partner one-on-one with participants to identify personal goals and develop action plans Support individuals in building practical life skills such as budgeting, time management, communication, self-advocacy, and daily routines Help participants navigate community resources, services, and natural support systems Encourage self-determination and informed decision-making Group Facilitation Co-facilitate or lead recovery-oriented groups focused on life skills, wellness, and peer connection Create a welcoming, inclusive group environment that promotes mutual support and shared learning Adapt group content to meet the needs and goals of participants Recovery-Oriented Practice Apply recovery principles including hope, empowerment, self-direction, and respect Support participants in identifying their own strengths, values, and pathways to recovery Model resilience and self-care practices Promote the belief that recovery is possible and looks different for everyone Documentation & Collaboration Maintain accurate, timely documentation of participant progress and goal milestones Collaborate with clinical staff, co-workers, and community partners as part of a broader support team Participate in regular supervision and team meetings Maintain appropriate boundaries and understand the distinction between non-clinical coaching support and clinical services Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (human services, psychology, social work, etc.) preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Basic computer skills for documentation purposes Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required Preferred Experience Experience supporting individuals with mental health or co-occurring challenges in a non-clinical setting Familiarity with recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and person-centered practices Group facilitation experience Knowledge of local community resources Working Conditions Work occurs in office, community, and possibly participant home settings May require occasional evening or weekend hours Some local travel may be required
Pay:
$19.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 35.0 per week
